Hosting & Care

Hosting and care, £15 a month

Already have a site you like? We will host, secure, back up and look after it. No rebuild, no redesign, no attempt to talk you into one. If the site is doing its job, the only question is whether it is being looked after.

What £15 a month covers

  • Fast UK hosting with a free SSL certificate. Served from the UK, on infrastructure sized for business sites rather than oversold shared boxes. The certificate renews itself, so your site never greets a customer with a security warning.
  • Daily backups, kept for 30 days. Taken automatically and stored away from the server, because a backup on the same machine is not a backup. If something breaks, we can put yesterday back.
  • Software updates and security monitoring. The unglamorous work that stops a site being defaced or quietly turned into a spam relay. On WordPress this is most of the job, and skipping it for a year is how sites get hacked.
  • Uptime monitoring, around the clock. Checked every few minutes. If it goes down we know before you do, and before your customers tell you.
  • Thirty minutes of changes a month. Prices, opening hours, a new member of staff, a page of text, a PDF menu. Send it over and it gets done — no ticket system, no hourly minimum.
  • Free migration from your current host. We move the files, the database, the email records and the domain settings, and we do it without the site going dark.

How the move actually works

This is the part people dread, and it is the part we have done most often. It takes about a week, and almost none of it is your work.

  • We take a copy and stand it up privately. Your live site keeps running untouched while we get an identical copy working on our hosting, on a temporary address only you and we can see.
  • You check it over. Forms, bookings, any integrations, the pages that matter most. Nothing has changed publicly at this point, so there is no pressure and no risk.
  • We lower the DNS timings, then switch. Done properly, visitors see no interruption — the old and new sites are identical, so even someone mid-visit notices nothing.
  • Email is handled separately and carefully. Website hosting and email are different things that often live at the same provider, and the usual way people lose mail is by moving one and forgetting the other. We record what you have before touching anything.
  • We watch it for a fortnight. Then your old hosting can be cancelled, not before.

When this is the right plan

It suits you if your website is basically fine. Perhaps you paid for it two years ago and the person who built it has gone quiet. Perhaps you are on a hosting package that renews at an alarming figure and nobody can tell you what it includes. Perhaps it works and you simply want somebody to answer the phone when it doesn’t.

It is the wrong plan if the site is slow, awkward on a phone, or not bringing in enquiries. Hosting a site that does not work faster will not make it work. In that case the honest answer is one of the design plans — and we would rather tell you that than take £15 a month for looking after something that is losing you business.

We will tell you which of the two you are in, before you sign anything.

What we will not do

Hosting is a trade with a bad habit of hiding things, so plainly:

  • No introductory rate. £15 is the price. It does not triple on renewal.
  • No holding your domain hostage. Your domain and your site are yours. Ask for them and you get them, with the files and a database export, and we will point them wherever you say.
  • No charging for a restore. If we have a backup and you need it, that is what the backup is for.
  • No unexplained “maintenance” invoices. The thirty minutes is included; anything genuinely larger gets quoted before it is done, not after.

What it costs

Pay-monthly plans run from £45 a month for a five-page site up to £120 a month for a shop or membership site — design, build, hosting, support and monthly changes all included, with nothing to pay upfront.

Prefer to own it? One-off builds start at £1495.

Questions

Hosting questions

Will my site go down while you move it?

It should not be offline at all. We build a working copy on our hosting first, you approve it, and only then does the domain point at the new one. Because both are identical, the switch is invisible.

We also keep your old hosting running for a couple of weeks afterwards, so there is always somewhere to fall back to.

Do you host WordPress?

Yes, and most of the sites we take on are WordPress. The updates, plugin maintenance and security monitoring matter more there than anywhere else, because an un-updated WordPress site is actively a liability rather than just a stale one.

We also host plain HTML sites, static site generators, Shopify-adjacent landing pages and most ordinary PHP sites. Tell us what you have and we will say honestly whether we are a good home for it.

What about my email?

We move your website, and we are careful not to break your email in the process. If your mail sits with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or your current host, we record the records first and leave them pointing where they already point.

If you would like your email moved as well, that is a separate conversation with a separate price, and it is not included here — we would rather be clear than discover it halfway through.

Is there a contract?

Hosting and care is monthly, and you can stop at the end of any month. The 12-month minimum term applies to the design plans, where we are building something from scratch, not to this.

When you leave you take the site with you. See the terms for the detail.

What if I need more than thirty minutes of changes?

Small overruns we absorb; nobody is counting to the minute. If your site genuinely needs a couple of hours a month, one of the design plans is better value than buying time on top of this one, and we will say so.

Larger pieces of work — a new section, a booking flow, a redesign of a page — get quoted up front as a one-off.

What happens if my site gets hacked?

We restore from a clean backup, work out how it got in, and close that route. It is covered — there is no emergency recovery fee.

What we cannot promise is that it will never happen, to anyone who tells you otherwise. What we can promise is daily backups kept off the server, updates applied, and a phone that gets answered.

Can you take over a site built by someone else?

Usually, and it is most of what this plan is for. We will need access to the hosting and the domain, and ideally the site files. We do not need the original developer’s cooperation, though it makes life easier.

If a site has been built in something proprietary that cannot be exported — some website-builder platforms are deliberately a dead end — we will tell you straight away rather than take the work on and discover it later.

Let’s build the site your trade actually needs

Tell us what you do and we’ll send you a straight answer: what your site needs, what it will cost each month, and how quickly it can be live.

No pressure, no jargon, no obligation. We usually reply the same working day.
